Serena's First Day of School!

My Serena with her new friend, Serena!

This last one is of her in the van, just before we left the house this morning. Do you love her new Disney Princess backpack in the first pic??? She totally loves it!
So, today was not so good for her...she ran to me after school and fell and skinned her knee up a bit, but that isn't what caused her tears...she cried and said, "everyone yelled at me!" I said who yelled at you? Everyone and my teacher, because I didn't get the glue stick cap on right, I thought it twisted and it didn't...by this time I could hardly understand her, poor kid! So, I put my arm around her and said that is ok. What else did you do? To this she replies nothing! I ask what did you learn? To this she says nothing!
I told her tomorrow will be better...I am sure she will have a lot to learn, since she never did go to pre-school. But, that is ok!

Her school has a great lunch program and I am excited for her when we decide to let her get a "hot lunch". They have: yogurt parfait, low fat cheese pizza on whole grain crust, Cobb salad, toasted cheese on a whole wheat sub roll, BLT wrap, yogurt parfait, Hummus and Cucumber with pita bread (wow! can I get lunch there???) Turkey & cheese sub on whole wheat roll, and did I mention yogurt parfait? Oh I see I did! Well, since she is a vegetarian I am happy there are some things she will be able to eat on the menu and they are healthy!

Do you like your kids lunch menu? If so, or if not, please share!

Your kids' lunch menu is awesome! Much better than ours.
I'm so sorry she had a rough day.
She looked adorable though, love her sweater!

Well Serena and her new friend Serena looks so grown up and ready for school. I am so sorry that she had a rough time with the glue cap and school. We hope that when we send them off each morning that they are received into warmth and patience. I hope that her next days are much better!

Our menu is okay -- they have cold options that are very healthy but the hot plates are not as great. My son doesn't like buying lunch unfortunately so I keep packing!

What an awesome lunch menu! I hate ours. I'm so disappointed in it.

Poor Serena - Kaitlyn often will have days where she says everyone yells at her. I think it is just their own perception of course, but for she seems to be very sensitive to any critique by others. Then again, aren't we all?

OMGish! She is ADORABLE!!! So cute. I'm sure her school days will get better, bless her heart.

Your school menu sounds awesome! I hate ours, very few healthy choices. I pack my girls lunch about 3 days a week and they can buy lunch the other days, but we always discuss healthy choices first.

#2, that is the most amazing school lunch menu I have ever heard of! How can I be down?
