Jog-a-Thon

Serena's elementary school had their annual jog-a-thon. They have one every year to raise money for their poor PTA. Her school is one in our district that has the most low-income families whose children attend, therefor the school's PTA is always trying to find ways to generate money.

 Here is Serena, not sure what she is doing, but her hair is flipping up! I think she was jumping up and down, since she was happy that Daddy and Brandon came to see her jog.

 Here she is running. She went around 11 times! in 10 minutes. We gave her a dollar for each lap she did!

Trike-A-Thon

 

Brandon's pre-school had a trike-a-thon earlier last month. I am just late in posting the pics of course!

He really loved it. He was riding a bike that belonged to the pre-school. They had the trike-a-thon to raise money for St. Jude's Children's Hospital. I donate to them every year. Oh and I accidentally deleted my signature, LOL oh well.

Room Make Over

Here are pictures of Serena's room make over. It was brown and now it is pink! She even got new bedding and some other cool accessories to make her room more cozy!

Lego Mania

Coughing and Ear Infections

I have not been able to post anything in a while.

Serena was sick the Friday before her Spring Break, was coughing and then over that weekend had a temp that went over 100. So, I took her to the doc and she had an ear infection and was put in an antibiotic and was given meds for the ear pain.

I did not take Brandon to the doc, he seemed to just have a cold....but was coughing up a storm.

So, a few days later, he was still coughing and then had a fever of 101.1...the same as his sister. This was just this past Saturday, just before Easter...

We spent Easter at home, he had another fever and I just didn't think we should be going to church or to family's homes, so he could be comfortable at home and so he didn't infect anyone else.

So, I took him to the doc on Tuesday and he was diagnosed with Asthma symptoms. He needs breathing treatments and an oral steroid. Then, after 4 days of that he goes to a different medication in the nebulizer and will do preventative breathing treatments, one time a night for the next 3 months. I am down with this as long as he will get better. The doc said most do not to the preventative breathing treatments and end up in the ER when their kid can't breath.

Here we are Thursday. Serena is complaining that her ear hurts and of a headache. I am hoping she can make it thru the weekend since I have another doc appointment for both kids on Monday morning, for a recheck.

I am hoping they feel better by Sunday so we can go to church and they can wear their cute, matching Easter outfits.

Did I mention I feel like crap, too?? Oh well I have been coughing up a lung for the last week along with congestion like no other and waking up thru the night in coughing fits, so bad so, I take medicine and go to the couch to sleep and cough so my husband can get rest, but this isn't working out too well anyways, because then Brandon comes into our bed...

Corsages

These are all made by my wonderful daughter, Kylie! She is taking a forestry class and seems to enjoy making corsages. The other day she brought home a plant, well it has a purple flower and I can't remember the name of it. She was taking an agriculture class and well it just wasn't for her so she switched out..lol

I found out they are indeed Easter Lilly's! Wouldn't that just rock if they were to bloom on Easter??? I will keep you posted.

Art

This is Serena's paint on canvas, it is Kiara her blue rhino that daddy got for her on a business trip a while ago. She takes an art class and loves it!

Here is her self-portrait done in chalk. The day she did this, her hair was actually in a french braid and she didn't want it that way in her portrait, so she did her hair down. I think it looks a lot like her!



This is Brandon's art. He used rock candy to make the art and then he painted it with this "squeezy thing and the paint goes out" his exact words, LOL

This is also Brandon's art, from pre-school. This is Shaving Cream Art...lol He has made a lot of cool stuff this year.


This last one is Serena's again from her art class. It is a long neck dinosaur and it was done with chalk.

My daughter is very artistic and has talent, I am not just saying this! It's true, according to her teacher and she does love to color and draw, like all the time. I am not artistic at all, she definitely gets it from her Dad!
