My Boys

It is amazing to me how much these two get along. My oldest is 17 and such a kid at heart, and my youngest is 2 and loves to play with his "bro bro". That is Hayden's nickname since Kylie was a baby, her name for him and now it is Brandon's name for him. Brandon goes to his room and calls, "Bro Bro!" and goes to Kylie's room and calls, "Sis Sis!". When Hayden is home he is there to play with the kids and they have such a wonderful time. Both Serena and Brandon are at Hayden's heals when he is here, they follow him around pretty much all the time, and at night they want to watch movies with him.

Birthday Party at Jolly Jumps!

Lorelei and her Mommy ~ climbing this huge rock!
Faith wasn't too sure about it...
Serena on this huge chair
Serena climbing the rock
Lorelei and Serena
Brandon climbing one of the small jolly jumps
Brandon and his girlfriend, if only for the day!
I am late posting this...but what else is new? haha We were invited to Lorelei and Faith's birthday party at Jolly Jumps on Jan. 16th. Lorelei turned 5 Dec. 31st and her cousin, Faith, will turn 5 sometime this week, so they had a combined party for them both. Brandon was not sure at first, in fact he didn't even want to take off his shoes! But then he got the idea and was climbing all over the place and even went down the slide. Check out the video below.

The Park on Sunday

This is the park near our house, we walked there today.
This statue is of Adolpho Camarillo, the founder of our city.
This is actually a basketball court that is used for parking on Sundays for the church, pic is below.
Across the street from the park is Jack's Radiator Shop.
and a puddle...still drying out from the rain last week
We walked by this shop on our way home.
Head over to Unknown Mami for more views of Sundays In My City!

Do You Ever Have "One Of Those Days"?

Do you ever have one of those days that just starts out crappy? and by the end of it your ready to lock yourself in the bathroom and just cry????

every time you turn around your 2 yr old is getting into something? Like the plant in your room that you found on a walk and put in water and it grew roots and you planted it in the dirt and you water it all the time.......he has ripped out that poor plant 3 times I think and it is still alive. Or when he got the hair detangler squirt bottle and shot the entire bathroom floor with it....or when you give him say goldfish to eat in a bowl and he tosses them on the floor and then walks on them? or when your 4 yr old leaves her rice and a huge bowl I might add, on the kitchen table and walks away the 2 yr old gets up and starts flinging it all over the place? Not fun times, and now when he the 2 yr old gets in trouble, he dramatically throws himself on the floor, smacks his head on the ground and starts bawling, not to mention we have hard wood flooring, no carpets except in the older kids rooms....and then he goes to grab whatever you took away and smacks his face on the wood part of the couch...he did this just this morning. He does other things that just make me cringe when I find him and I am sure he will continue to do these things, as we don't watch him every single minute of every single day, guess we should, huh?

what has your child done that makes you crazy? I can look back and almost laugh at what I wrote, but the sad thing is it is all true! He has had temper tantrums in the store, and usually my kids are good in the grocery store, just give them a cookie when you first get in there and they are content, usually anyways...did I tell you about the time the clerk gave my daughter stickers when we left and she stuck them to the outside of the van door? oh I was ticked to say the least and the sticky stuff stayed on forever! so for a while they were not allowed to give her stickers. My son's newest thing besides the throwing himself on the floor is taking his sisters toys and running away with a huge smile on his face and that just makes her even more mad.

So, there, I feel better to get this off my chest and now I am ready, at least hope I am ready, to start this new year off right! or on the right foot anyways!

Random Pics

Here is Brandon, Wyatt and Serena. I was trying to take a pic of the boys to display their matching outfits, but Brandon was not having it...LOL So I did get a few cute ones of them anyways. You can see Brandon has black pants with the white stripe and green stripe and Wyatt has blue pants with a light blue stripe and a white stripe. Brandon got his outfit from Wyatt and Lorelei for Christmas. They are all complete hams for the camera!

Christmas in January

Here is Brandon and Christopher in the kitchen. Brandon is showing Christopher how his new plane works...sort of, LOL

Thomas with his present from us!
Brandon watching him open it....
YAY! Disney Cars, just what I needed!
Serena opening her present from Peggy and Steven...
Hello Kitty.....we love her!

Brandon's froggie blankie!
I love the way his name is done.

Yes, we had Christmas in January....it was the only way to do it! With everyone having colds and such this was the first chance we all were able to get together. The kids had a great time and even though there was no Christmas tree or stockings still hanging, we had good food with good friends and lots of fun playing!

Serena's Make-Over

Here are her before make-over pictures:

These are Serena's after pictures of her make-over:

Like her hair? She wanted all those hair bands in her hair...

You can't see it, but she has beautiful sparkles all over her eyes and face and has lipstick on...

In her awesome dress! We had fun doing her make-over. I didn't want to use a bunch of dark make-up or even mascara. I think she has wonderful skin and I doubt she will have to use a lot of make-up when she is older. She gets her great skin from her Dad. Thanks Daddy! :)

Mean Moms

Mean Moms

Someday when my children are old enough to
understand the logic that motivates a parent,
I will tell them, as my Mean Mom told me:

I loved you enough to ask where you were going,
with whom, and what time you would be home.

I loved you enough to be silent and let you
discover that your new best friend was a creep.

I loved you enough to stand over you for
two hours while you cleaned your room,
a job that should have taken 15 minutes.

I loved you enough to let you see anger,
disappointment, and tears in my eyes. Children
must learn that their parents aren't perfect..

I loved you enough to let you assume the
responsibility for your actions even when the
penalties were so harsh they almost broke my heart..

But most of all, I loved you enough to say
NO when I knew you would hate me for it.

Those were the most difficult battles of all..
I'm glad I won them, because in the end you won, too.
And someday when your children are old enough to
understand the logic that motivates parents, you will tell them.

Was your Mom mean?

I know mine was.
We had the meanest mother in the whole world!

While other kids ate candy for breakfast,
we had to have cereal, eggs, and toast.

When others had a Pepsi and a Twinkie for lunch,
we had to eat sandwiches.

And you can guess our mother fixed us a dinner that was
different from what other kids had, too.

Mother insisted on knowing where we were at all times.
You'd think we were convicts in a prison.

She had to know who our friends were
and what we were doing with them.
She insisted that if we said we
would be gone for an hour, we would be gone for an hour or less.

We were ashamed to admit it,
but she had the nerve to break
the Child Labor Laws by making us work.

We had to wash the dishes, make the beds,
learn to cook, vacuum the floor, do laundry,
empty the trash and all sorts of cruel jobs.
I think she would lie awake at night
thinking of more things for us to do.

She always insisted on us telling the truth,
the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.
By the time we were teenagers,
she could read our minds
and had eyes in the back of her head.

Then, life was really tough!

Mother wouldn't let our friends just honk
the horn when they drove up
They had to come up to the door
so she could meet them.

While everyone else could date when they were 12 or 13,
we had to wait until we were 16.

Because of our mother we missed out
on lots of things other kids experienced.

None of us have ever been caught shoplifting,
vandalizing other's property or ever arrested for any crime.
It was all her fault.

Now that we have left home, we are all educated, honest adults.
We are doing our best to be mean parents just like Mom was.

I think that is what's wrong with the world today.
It just doesn't have enough mean moms!

This was sent to me by my Aunt Elly in December and I almost forgot about it in my e-mails and I almost deleted it! I am glad I saved it because I think it says a whole lot about Moms!

Thanks Aunt Elly for sending this to me! :)

I am a Mean Mom...are you???

LAX Airport

Well, I have not posted in a while. Have been busy with the holiday and children....mine and the ones I babysit.

This post is about LAX airport and the experience I had on Monday afternoon. Kylie had school and Hayden did not, so he went with me and the little ones to take McKayla to the airport. Her mother told her the night before to leave early because of some airport drama. When I heard that, I had no clue because we don't watch the news in this house, it is usually too negative and who wants to see that before going to bed?

So, we leave at 11:30 since I had an errand to run and we were on the freeway by 11:42 I think....plenty of time to get there. The little ones were great and Brandon even napped a little. We get there at 12:40 or so and still plenty of time, her flight was at 2:45. So, I drop Hayden and McKayla off and tell him to call me and tell me if her plane is on time, very important. So, I go to sit in the Carl's Jr parking lot down the way from the airport, since I didn't want to park and pay. I got a call from Hayden at 1:05 to tell me her flight was delayed 11 hours! I kept thinking he was joking, bu the wasn't. So, I called Ponch to let him know what was going on and made my way back to the airport. Got parked, got Brandon in the stroller and headed to the terminal where they were waiting in a long line. I got in line with McKayla and Hayden took the little ones and watched them for me. Thank God he was with me!

The lady helping us checked every airline going to Houston and checked every connecting flight and found a flight leaving the next morning at 5:35, and she would have to be there no later then 4:30 to check the bag in, which she waved the 20 dollar fee, and even offered to put her up in a hotel for the night.

We finally were done around 2:15 and the kids were starving, so back to Carl's Jr we went and ate. Got home after 4 hours of basically being in the car or the airport and I was so tired!

Poor Ponch had to get up at 2 in the morning yesterday and leave by 3, to get her there on time. Hayden, bless him, went with again. When he got home he told me her flight was delayed again but this time only an hour and a half, it was scheduled to leave at 7:00 and it was 11 minutes late according to the internet and she was to land in Houston at 12:15.

UUFDA! What a day and what a nightmare! The plane that was originally supposed to take her Monday afternoon, was the plane that got stuck in NJ, some terrorist or something, I don't know any of the details that happened on Sunday and since the plane never made it back to LA it bumped her flight and a bunch of others, according to the lady at the airport.

What a way to start the new year! LOL
